Missing MPQ File

Post by Scheknul »

I downloaded the entire Win32 port of the game, but there's no MPQ file. I have no idea how to even begin launching this game, since there's no reasonable "how to" or "readme." In your video you show there being a "Diablo" executable, but I don't see that in my folder. How do I make this work?

Furthermore, wen I try to launch with out this MPQ file, it tells me, "You do not have a game file selected. Freeablo will not start without a game file selected." Even though I have the .exe selected in the Diablo selection.

Even when I go into Celview to see if I simply overlooked something, the file is still absent.

You need Diablo.exe and DIABDAT.MPQ from a diablo installation.

From the installation section of readme.txt in the zip you dled:
Copy DIABDAT.MPQ and Diablo.exe from your diablo install into the folder with the freeablo executable. (NOTE: only version 1.09 of diablo is currently supported, so please patch to that version)
:p
