Wont install on Manjaro KDE

Post by fixxxera »

Followed instructions, copied diabdat.mpq and diablo.exe and when i run launcher i get this:

Code: Select all

/home/fixxxer/freeablo-v0.3-linux-64/launcher: error while loading shared libraries: libicui18n.so.48: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Now what?
EDIT: if i run freeablo.sh i get this:

Code: Select all

[fixxxer@ArchPC freeablo-v0.3-linux-64]$ ./freeablo.sh
Failed to open DIABDAT.MPQ with error 2

Did you try to build the engine yourself (if yes did you get errors), or did you grab a prebuilt binary ?

Do you have qt5 (and all other dependencies) installed ?

I reckon he dl'ed the v0.3 release linux version.
Try running launcher.sh. That should set up the config so it should work

Yup.
And the other error from running the launcher is because you ran it directly instead of through the script that sets up your library path.
I'm thinking for the next release we could use https://github.com/ruslo/hunter , it's a package manager for c++ that let's you statically link in all your dependencies. That way we wouldn't need to mess with LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

What I understood after a fast overview is that hunter is a package manager wich basicly is going to wget you dependencies so the user doesn't have to do it himself (wich is cool).
However I don't think it let's you statikly link, that's just a cmake option ?

It can do either, but the cnakr default is static linking, so that's what you get by default (which is great :p)
